It's like... serendipity, or something...

Why the Blog of Bounce, you might ask?

There is a tale to be told here, and it goes something like this.

Imagine you've just been to a workshop that may have been held by Legend Press at the Phoenix Artists Club about (How Freaking Hard It Is) Getting Published and may have involved several hours of being told that You Have To Make Social Networking Your Bitch Whether You Like It Or Not.

And then you come home to find a blog posted to Facebook saying If You Won't Have A Blog, Don't Send Us Your Manuscript. Seriously. That's what it's called.

And then you've found a Kristen Lamb blog asking what the hell your blog is going to do for your reader, and prohibiting all terms such as 'random', 'musings', 'witterings' and the ilk - which pretty much slates your current blog which regularly commits all of the above sins.

You you're wondering: what can I offer the readers I'm trying to attract before I've finished writing the damn book I want them to read?

And while you're wondering this, a man on the central line seems suspiciously interested in your foot, or maybe leg. You're not sure, but suspect it's something dodgy.

No, it's ok, he wants to know the brand of your shoe.

Addidas.
BOUNCE.

You then get a text from a friend you code-name Tigger because, well, he bounces.

Then you walk into your local Starbucks for your afternoon caffeine hit, regaling the baristas (with whom you are friends on FB - you're *that* local) with the day's adventures and paradoxes, and Rita says: 'Every day you bounce in here and you make me smile!'

And you don't connect any of this up.

Until about 2am. Lying in bed. Quite awake. Thinking: bloody hell, what can I offer in the way of a blog and that's not full of random musings and witterings?

And the URL falls into your head, delivered from on high or your subconscious making connections between the day's serendipitous events: theblogofbounce.com

So you bounce out of bed - and no-one else has thought of it. It's that brilliant...

...or that lame.

Whichever it may be, only time will tell. But just say you went: that's a whole lot of signs and serendipity is biting me on the backside so I better buy this baby. And bought that domain.

Just say you did.

That might be why there's now a blog called theblogofbounce, where I take all the cool stuff that makes me bounce and pay if forward to you. Because that's how I roll. And one day, you might buy a book of mine in return, and we'll all be square, yeah?
